Macro Photography and Banner Building

Banners

Thumbnail of Pink RoseIn close-up or tabletop Photography, digital cameras have a huge advantage over traditional film cameras because you can review your results and make adjustments as you shoot. If a photo doesn’t turn out as you’d hoped, just delete it and try something new. Digital images also let you import them directly into a graphic editing program for editing or reprocessing. I have used a series of photos taken in extreme close-up and full camera zoom of vivid coloured flowers to construct some unique banner backgrounds for use in web pages or as unusual icons and buttons.

Bob a Job Leads to Unexpected Rewards

Latest News

Years and years ago, well 1964 to be precise, I was nominated to call on the "New Yanks" a wealthy couple from America; they had just moved into a huge house in our village (Broadway, Cotswolds, UK) they were supposed to be artists.

I had to offer them a chance to have a "Bob-a-Job".
Huh, nowadays that sort of offer has totally different connotations!

Ask any professional photographer for their top tip for taking good photos and they will no doubt say, "Read and understand your camera's user manual".

That's fine if you're only taking still photos. However, panoramic Photography entails a whole bundle of equipment that requires a great deal of care to set-up if you want to achieve a perfect stitch.

Broadway, England - Located in the Cotswolds

Flood News

MORE road closures announced by police this afternoon included the B4632 Evesham to Pershore road at Hampton, the B4632 at Broadway, the B4082 Pinvin to Upton Snodsbury road and Brickyard Lane in Drakes Broughton.

One elderly resident reported "It was never flooded even when the water levels got really high in 1998," she said.

The emergency services have been inundated with calls throughout the day and by early evening were able to respond only to those calls where lives were at risk.

Huh, should have been there in 1966... now that REALLY was a flood and a blessed 6 days of school.

Rivers and streams have been flooding for years.

Broadway doesn't usully suffer from houses being flooded. However, it's not unknown for the village to be cut-off due to heavy rainfall.

For all its popularity with tourists though, Broadway remains fairly uncommercialised, and exploring the antique shops is a must! And if you're in the vicinity, you really should visit Snowshill Manor nearby too - it's a gorgeous manor house stuffed with a weird and wonderful collection of musical instruments, clocks, toys, bicycles and armour. The Arts & Crafts-style garden is a haven of tranquillity (and organically-run too!). I love that place!
