After Registration - Posting a Link

When you first login successfully, you'll see a new menu displayed at the foot of the left side navigation menu (see example on the RIGHT of this page).

Basic account users and newly registered users can ONLY post Web Links

Click the "Submit Web Links" button

A short form will display.

These are the current categories, more may be added at some stage in the future.

Recipes and Cooking ( 2 items )
Free to read cooking and recipes submitted by members of AskJack.

Destinations and Travel ( 4 items )

All link additions are moderated and will ONLY be published after approval by an AJ Editor or Moderator.

Upgrading to an Author Account

Members can also get an upgrade for their account to Author status. An Author can submit full articles to selected categories. This is an useful function for web site marketers, as they can submit their WHOLE web site map of links rather than trying to input them one-at-a-time.

How an Author Can Posting an Article

Select the "Submit Content" button from the user menu.

Decide if you want to post a new article or modify one you have already published.

The online TinyMCE WYSIWYG Editor window will open.

Help Using the Editor

Don't worry: You can't break anything!

You'll know (or at least recognize) most buttons and/or mechanisms in this editor from other applications. So just keep going and create your page as you would do using your text processor (like Microsoft Word). Some mechanisms will work a little differently though (e.g. working with images and the little to no possibilities to alter the font size or font colour).

IMPORTANT: SAVE OFTEN - There's a 10 minute time limit if there's no action within the editor window... so, I say again:

SAVE OFTEN or write the article offline and spell check, then login, copy and paste.

You can copy and paste from other web pages and the links, images and most HTML will remain intact.

You CANNOT post any JavaScript or executable programs such as Flash movies etc.
