Aussies Stroll to an Easy Victory
Australia 352 & 331/5d South Africa 138 & 370
Australia won by 175 runs
South Africa v Australia Lay the Draw £10 @ 1.88 Liability £8.80
I traded this one out for a £7.60 guaranteed profit. At one stage it did look like SA might bat-out the final day, but Australia's fast bowlers did the job and they got a fine match and series win.
West Indies v England Lay the Draw £10 @ 1.8 Liability £8
This one is still in-play (current score: 45 for 2 and 197 needed for a Windies win: Back odds for a Draw 1.4)
I have a feeling £8 is about to disappear down-the-pan. Windies are not going to try and win and England just cannot find the firepower to get 20 wickets. I might have a punt on the 20-20 game this Sunday, but I'm really sick and tired of throwing good money after bad support England on this tour.
Tonight's Champions League to Close to Call
Tonight's Champions League football is to close to call. Liverpool are not playing very well at the moment and key players are off form. Chelsea away from home, but with Drogba in form might hold on. Real Madrid and Juventus also have team selection problems. I think I'll pass on both matches and look to the Championship League for better value.
I've found three matches in the early betting that could be suitable for a Lay on the Draw - Back when the odds go out.
This is a bit risky... but worth a punt?
Who knows and who cares.
Midweek English Championship Three Wayward Punts and Hope for a Tickle
Here's the three possible targets for tonight's Lay bets. Low stakes and modest profits.
Lay Sheffield, Swansea & Reading - trade for a modest green book ASAP, unless Blackpool, Plymouth or Charlton score first, then trade for the highest return.
That's the plan... which could go tits-up in all three matches rather quickly.
Betfair Rules and Regulations - Market Information Make a Non-sense of My Bets
Last night my football trading bets fell foul because Betfair SUSPENDED all in-play markets for Championship matches. It seems that when an especially busy night is anticipated (Champions League I assume) they can limit how individual markets work.
Example:
Predict the result of this match. The market will be suspended at kick off with unmatched bets cancelled. The market will then be re-opened for the half-time interval. All bets apply to the full 90 minutes, plus injury time. Extra time is not included.
Please note: Whilst it is our intention to re-open this market for the half time interval, in certain circumstances this may not always be possible.
For clarity; half-time interval is defined as the period from the end of the first half up until 8:45 pm when the market will be suspended.
EXACTLY THE SAME THING WILL HAPPEN TONIGHT (Wednesday 11 March).
Effectively, this makes the market a straight punt rather than a trading opportunity for closing out a green book position.
Wednesday Night Restricted Matches
Burnley v C Palace - Restricted to Halftime Trades IF Betfair re-opens the market
Coca-Cola League One - Suspended at Kickoff
Tranmere v Leicester
Predict the result of this match. The market will be suspended at kick off. All bets apply to the full 90 minutes, plus injury time. Extra time is not included.
Coca-Cola League Two - Suspended at Kickoff
Chesterfield v Grimsby
Predict the result of this match. The market will be suspended at kick off. All bets apply to the full 90 minutes, plus injury time. Extra time is not included.
This is not a very good service.
Down quite a bit on the night, but in future the first thing I'll check is the market information for any trickery!
Oh, I was right... the £8 Lay-the-Draw on the 5th Test... down the pan. Why bother declaring so late in the day?
