Maybe I'm a bit hard on G**gle's business methods and morales. All I can say in there defence: "They pay their affiliates on time; every time".

Well, AskJack IS...

The AskJack web site displays alternative search results to G**gle's free listings. The site also uses Adsense in the search returns. Many people don't like to be sent from a search link in G**gle to another search link in a directory site.

To be fair, at one time the free listings at G**gle were almost completely dominated by "directory" listings and things had to be regulated.

To me; AskJack acts as a filter and can often point exactly to the information required, without wading through endless search returns at the "big" search engine sites.

During the search engine wars of 2005; Askjack had over 1/4 million of web pages listed on G**gle AND Yah**. This went on for about 3 months. Then, on the 3rd Jan 2006 EVERY page was deleted from BOTH web sites. G**gle also took down EVERY web site associated with AskJack.

Slightly over the top reaction. I'm absolutely positive that "human" intervention was involved in this decision.
