Be careful, very careful. There might be people after your money, your liberty and your very reason to live. Eating, drinking and smoking. Thinking? Long-term problems from persistent heavy drinking include liver disease, circulatory diseases, cancer, brain damage. stomach irritation and skin and hair damage. Short-term problems include accidents and drink-related assaults. Awe, crap... Dawn's World Kill old people; no re-cyc errr... (what can we do with these old feckers?) Step into "Dawn's World" at your peril. http://www.dawnprimarolo.labour.co.uk/ Dawn...? You just HAVE to read this thread: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/politics/article2666587.ece This discussion revels more about "middle England" than any survey. Wee Gordie's spin docters should take note. GB (middle england) is not happy! Winston Lives! Say NO to Dawnism??
I just had to snip this post: >> In very many comments to this article, I read the word "nanny" and "nanny state" often. So many new terms pass into everyday english and lose their original meaning quickly. "Nanny" has an unavoidable connotation to Mary Poppins, governess - and being generally educated and "looked after", whether you want it or not. For "nanny" I read totalitarianism, dictatorship and the subtle, irreversible subjugation of a once proud and dignified people. The well-paid do-gooder industry is not so gently prodding us all in that direction. In my day, "1984" was required reading at school. I wonder if it's still the same today, or is it no longer politically correct? Good luck, Britain Winston Smith, Hamburg, Germany << Winston Smith is the chap that had a hard time in the original book... fairly sure he did NOT reside in Hamburg. 1984 was a good year for me. I'd just left the army, I was on the "dole" and working "on-the-side". The Thatcher regime turned a "blind-eye" and ensured my health & safety were ignored along with basic employment laws. I took part in the "Poll Tax" riots in later years, which played a significent part in her downfall. Copy: "Here come the health fascists again. I wonder if the New Labour MPs read these blogs and see how they are becoming resented. I see there are now adverts on TV about global warming, smoking etc - this is simple propaganda, attempts at behavioural control as indicated in 1984. Time for this dreadful government with its authoritarian leanings to go". Ian Burgess, Bristol, >>end copy << All I can say... "In 1984, I had enough to eat" - "1996... I slimmed a bit" - "2007 Still slim, enlarged liver, maybe a new burden on the NHS". Special Message to Gordie Brown: Voted Labour all my life NEVER Again. Don't vote for ANYONE |
